Senior Associate
"My advice for anyone who is considering a career at Clifford Chance or, more generally, in law, would be to stay curious and always try to see and understand new things that may go beyond the actual work that is required of you or your field of expertise."
Before joining Clifford Chance I completed several summer-internships at other law firms and the Prosecutor's General Office in Luxembourg. I hold a Licence en droit d'entreprise (business law degree) from the University of Nancy, as well as a Master 1 in Business law and a Master 2 in General private law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas. I am currently a list I lawyer in Luxembourg – Senior Associate.
Why I joined
I joined Clifford Chance after a two-month internship in the Litigation Department. I joined because of its reputation as a top tier law firm and the friendly work environment I experienced during my internship. Clifford Chance also advises high-profile clients on very complex matters so I thought joining them would make a good first career step.
What keeps me engaged
I stay at the firm because, despite the short time I've working here, I have real responsibilities and others rely on me. I also feel like my input is impacting the advice we give our clients and the legal solutions we apply. Further to this, I feel like my requests and objectives are being heard and taken seriously.
My most rewarding experience so far...
The most rewarding experience I have had at Clifford Chance until now was advising a client during the entire settlement negotiations from the very first moment its legal issues with a contractual party began, up until the final signature of the settlement agreement. We were able to exceed the client's expectations regarding the final outcome of the agreement.
My advice
My advice for anyone who is considering a career at Clifford Chance or, more generally, in law, would be to stay curious and always try to see and understand new things that may go beyond the actual work that is required of you or your field of expertise.
The best thing about my job
I like best about my job that many challenges or cases require as much imagination or creativity as expertise or knowledge.
The recruitment process
My recruitment process was essentially my two-month internship at Clifford Chance. At the end of this internship, I spoke to different people about my interest in joining and I was offered a position.
The people
What struck me first about the people I met at Clifford Chance is their considerable expertise in their respective fields and their team-working ability. When I am asked to describe Clifford Chance I first think of the desire to strive for excellence and to maintain a high reputation in law.
My motivation
I am motivated by the desire to acquire a broad area of expertise and to be able to work autonomously on different matters.
My journey to the firm
I studied law in France and passed the Bar in Luxembourg. After the CCDL courses in February 2018, I completed my legal qualification journey and am now a fully qualified lawyer.
