I joined Clifford Chance as an intern in 2024 - during the final year of my graduation and was promoted and Associate after graduation. I have been training as an advocate focusing on M&A and corporate advice. My strong academic foundation in commercial and civil law, along with internships at various law firms solidified my interest in these areas and the field of law. At Clifford Chance, I have had the opportunity to work on complex deals, which has been instrumental in my professional growth.


What led you to specialise in your practice area and what keeps you passionate?


My interest in M&A was sparked during my university studies, driven by my fascination with commercial/civil law and corporate transactions. The dynamic nature of M&A and working on complex dossier deals, has kept my passion alive. The continuous learning and the impact of my work on clients' businesses sustain my interest.


How did your initial assumptions about being a lawyer change as your career progressed?


Initially, I assumed that being a lawyer was primarily about legal research and drafting documents. However, my experience at Clifford Chance has shown me that it involves much more, including strategic thinking, client management, and negotiation skills. My perception has evolved to appreciate the multifaceted nature of the profession.

At Clifford Chance, I have developed strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage my part in complex transactions. These skills have been crucial in navigating the challenges of M&A deals and have contributed significantly to my success in delivering value to clients.


What aspect of the work brings you the greatest satisfaction?


I enjoy the intellectual challenge and the opportunity to work on high-profile deals. The aspect that brings me the greatest satisfaction is seeing the tangible impact of my work on clients' businesses and knowing that I have contributed to their success.

What has been your most exciting project so far?


I worked on was a complex cross-border M&A project. The collaboration with colleagues from different jurisdictions and the successful closing of part of the deal made it a standout experience. It was exciting to see our hard work come to fruition.


What is the best career advice you have received?


The best advice I received was to always stay curious and never stop learning. This mindset has shaped my approach to work, encouraging me to continuously seek new knowledge and improve my skills, which has been instrumental in my career development.


How do you maintain work-life balance?


I prioritise tasks by urgency—what must be done today and what can wait. Flexibility is key to effective time management. I also make time for activities I enjoy, like sports and spending time with loved ones.
