Legal Secretary

Office: Washington DC

How would you describe the culture and atmosphere at Clifford Chance?

The culture here is positive and people are friendly, and I have had great opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge.

As a legal secretary who do you work with and what are your responsibilities?

The attorneys I work with are involved in very complex, high profile matters – and it gets busy! Matter management, travel and meeting planning is an extensive part of my daily workflow.

One of the first partners I worked with was the recruitment partner here in DC. I had the opportunity to be close to the process of hiring the new lawyers. I scheduled on-campus and in-office interviews and helped with the onboarding of summer associates. Because we have been growing so much, it was really interesting.

What is the most exciting project you have worked on recently?

One of the best projects I've been involved with was being part of the admin team to help establish the new Houston office. I travelled to Houston to provide secretarial and receptionist assistance, and played a major role in helping set up conference rooms for internal and client meetings.

Most importantly, the experience gave me a first hand look at what it takes to launch a new office. It was another example of how every day I'm learning, and how I find it motivating to be part of the team.
