Job description
The role
As the Head of Inclusion and Wellbeing you will be responsible for implementing the Active Inclusion framework and embedding the firm's global wellbeing strategy. This is a senior leadership role within HR, influencing alignment on global priorities and driving implementation across regions. Operating effectively in a global matrix structure, you will collaborate to deliver cohesive, integrated outcomes.
You will be the subject matter expert on inclusion and wellbeing, providing guidance and direction to embed these principles across the firm.
Working in close partnership with the Global Chief People Officer and HR leaders, as well as global and regional teams, you will drive inclusion and wellbeing priorities to enhance engagement and performance.
Who you will work with
You will report to the Global Chief People Officer, and you will work closely with senior Partners, leadership, and affinity networks.
You will also work with global HR leadership, the broader HR function, and practice area teams to embed inclusive practices, wellbeing principles, and support mechanisms into the firm’s policies, talent lifecycle processes, and Our Code.
What you will be responsible for
Inclusion and Wellbeing Delivery
- Deliver the firm's Active Inclusion framework to further embed equal access to opportunities into our people processes firm wide.
- Embed and deliver initiatives to support the employee wellbeing strategy, ensuring wellbeing principles are applied across jurisdictions and business functions.
- Act as an advisor, enabler and implementation lead, providing expert guidance to senior leaders, Partners, HR and other teams on issues and opportunities related to inclusion and wellbeing.
- Ensure inclusion and wellbeing are embedded throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance and advancement, while partnering with L&D to ensure the firm has the right training and development.
- Manage initiatives across the wellbeing strategy - covering mental, emotional, physical, financial, and social wellbeing.
- Lead response to high-stress environments relevant to the firm and the legal industry (e.g., workload pressure, trauma support in legal sectors, burnout prevention).
- Work with the firm's affinity networks ensuring strategic alignment, regional relevance, compliance, and sharing best practice.
- Manage external partnerships and represent the firm’s inclusion agenda in client and market-facing forums, if required.
Data Insights and Reporting
- Oversee global tracking and reporting of key metrics, produce insights for leadership, and guide data-driven decisions through collaboration with HR analytics and integration of platforms such as Workday. Reporting on any metrics to be done only subject to local legal requirements.
- Define and embed a framework leading to real outcomes for wellbeing aligned with the firm's Code, drive initiatives that foster a culture of responsibility, integrity and speaking up.
- Use data-driven insights and policy audits to ensure legal compliance, inclusive language, and consistent global implementation.
Engagement
- Lead and support the delivery of the firm's global People Survey, managing cross-functional coordination, design, testing and execution as required.
- Analyse survey findings to lead the development and implementation of global and regional action plans, ensuring insights are translated into measurable improvements.
- Affinity networks and regional governance:
- Act as advisor to the firm's recognised global networks.
- Encourage collaboration between networks and alignment with the firm’s strategic goals.
- Navigate local, legal and cultural contexts for inclusion and wellbeing compliance (e.g., data privacy, protected characteristics).
- Ensure programs are locally relevant while maintaining global consistency.
- Manage partnerships with external advisors as required.
- Work collaboratively across the firm globally to embed inclusion and wellbeing.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide leadership and line management to inclusion and wellbeing team ensuring alignment to global approach and recognition of local and cultural nuance.
- Work closely with global and regional leaders, HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and practice area management to ensure alignment between global and regional inclusion and wellbeing priorities.
- Act as a visible and authentic role model for inclusion, wellbeing and Our Code, demonstrating integrity and accountability in all interactions.
Your experience
Skills
- Ability to lead firm-wide cultural change with patience, persistence, and measurable impact.
- Ability to leverage data and key metrics, including external benchmarking, to monitor progress, identify barriers, and drive inclusive, evidence-based improvements.
- Flexible and effective communication and presentation skills, coupled with strong influencing and leadership skills.
Experience
- Solid experience operating as a strategic advisor and implementation leader, with a strong track record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders to embed inclusion and wellbeing initiatives into business priorities.
- Experience within inclusion, wellbeing, or HR, ideally in a high performance, legal or professional services environment.
- Proven experience of working effectively across global teams, practice groups, and external partnerships.
- Experience of delivering global frameworks and influencing firm-wide priorities with sensitivity to local cultures and compliance.
Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of global inclusion and wellbeing best practices, frameworks, and emerging trends.
- Knowledge of employment law, compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of organisational psychology and wellbeing frameworks.
- Awareness of cultural differences and inclusive language frameworks.
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and data analytics tools.
