Job description
The role
The Pitch Specialist is responsible for delivering a best-in-class pitch and proposals service for AS&H Clifford Chance across the Middle East region. The role owns the end-to-end delivery, quality and consistency of pitches, ensuring alignment with Clifford Chance’s global standards, tools and methodologies, while tailoring output to regional and client-specific requirements.
Acting as a trusted advisor to Partners and senior stakeholders, the Pitch Specialist will lead the strategic development, project management and execution of competitive tenders, supporting the firm’s growth and market positioning in the region.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse incoming pitch and tender opportunities and act as a trusted advisor to Partners on go / no-go decisions.
- Lead and project manage a portfolio of pitch opportunities, including:
- strategic planning and messaging
- pricing and commercial input (where applicable)
- drafting and coordinating pitch documentation
- rehearsals, presentations and post-tender reviews
- Lead pitch meetings with Partners and senior stakeholders, agreeing overall strategy, positioning and messaging.
- Draft, review and refine pitch content from a marketing and client-focused perspective, ensuring quality, consistency and impact.
- Keep Partners and C&MD colleagues informed of:
- market trends in proposals and pitching
- best practice and innovations from across Clifford Chance globally
- Create, maintain and continuously improve a centralised pitch content library accessible to the wider C&MD community.
- Own the tracking, reporting and analysis of all proposal and tender activity, including success rates and outcomes.
- Proactively obtain post-pitch client feedback and facilitate internal debrief sessions to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and embedding of proposals best practice across practice groups and the regional team.
- Champion innovation, bringing new ideas, tools and approaches to enhance pitch quality and effectiveness.
Your experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience delivering competitive pitches and proposals, ideally within a professional services or legal environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, complex pitches simultaneously to a high standard and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, client-focused narratives.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior Partners and stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities, with a consultative and advisory approach.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands effectively.
- High resilience and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with proposal-related databases (e.g. Mergermarket, Foundation, IJ Global) is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Native-level English or equivalent fluency (written and spoken).
- Arabic language capability is desirable but not essential.
- A university degree or equivalent qualification.
