Job description
As a member of our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, your tasks include:
- Engagement in litigation advice and settlement discussions.
- Preparing of procedural documents (court applications, motions, written submissions, notes for oral pleadings, legal exhibits and documentary evidence) and handling of judicial and arbitration proceedings.
- Drafting of client memoranda and client correspondence.
- Formalising contracts and formal notice letters.
- Legal research in any of our practice areas (commercial law, contracts law, criminal law, litigation, arbitration, …).
- Provide support to the whole LDR practice, including employment law, as well as other practices of our firm.
- Keeping up with, and assisting clients with, new developments in laws, regulations, case law and legal doctrine at fortnightly department meetings.
What we are looking for:
- You ideally have 1-2 years' experience in litigation and dispute resolution, ideally gained within a reputable Luxembourg law firm. You have excellent knowledge of civil law and commercial law.
- You are register to the 'Liste I' as Avocat à la Cour.
- A perfect command of French and English, with excellent writing skills. Any additional language skills (particularly in German and/or Luxembourgish) would be considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, criminal law and employment law would be considered as an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to complete several simultaneous projects on a deadline.
- Commitment, team spirit and strong communication skills are required qualities to progress in a stimulating environment.
