About the Team
Clifford Chance has the world's leading global finance practice. It is the largest group within the firm, distinguished by the range, caliber, and international scope of the deals we handle and the advice we provide.
Our Paris team is comprised of 3 partners and 8 lawyers who assist clients on a full range of banking and financial products. We advise on acquisition financing (e.g., LBOs, public-to-private transactions, private investments in public equity) as well as project financing (e.g., renewable energy such as offshore wind and solar farms, infrastructure projects like rail, airports, and motorways) or assets financing (e.g. aircraft).
What You Will Be Responsible For
As a member of our Banking & Finance team, you will be expected to:
- Draft legal documents clearly and concisely, such as facilities agreements and intercreditor agreements.
- Draft certain ancillary documents (e.g. fee letters, security documents, legal opinion etc.) and coordinate the conditions precedent process (liaising with local counsel and reviewing conditions precedent such as corporate authorisations, shareholders' agreements and security documents).
- Work with partners and associates from different backgrounds and nationality.
- Create solutions using your legal expertise and apply effective research techniques.
- Be proactive in keeping your legal knowledge and technical skills up to date.
Your career experience so far:
We are seeking a junior to mid-level lawyer (1–5 years of experience) with:
- A CAPA and a Master's degree in Business Law or Banking and Financial Law.
- Experience in banking and finance (acquisition financing and/or project financing).
- Fluency in French and an excellent level of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- You must desire to work within an international environment of excellence, where you will have the chance to collaborate on the most interesting deals. As part of a global and extensive practice, teamwork is essential, and you will often collaborate with colleagues in our overseas offices.
- The ideal candidate should be passionate, eager to learn, flexible, available, precise, and capable of working in a team.
