Job Description
We are looking to expand our team with a talented and motivated structured finance associate to join our dynamic Global Financial Markets practice. Our market knowledge, pragmatism and commercial approach have earned us a strong reputation as a global leader in the market. We see a fit with a motivated lawyer who enjoys working on challenging matters, often with a cross-border element, within a close-knit and driven team that operates at an international top level. This role will suit someone who is experienced in transactional structured products and eager of the prospects to join our Firm.
The position
We are looking for a Dutch law qualified associate (from 6 years' experience on) with a strong interest in structured finance work to join our Global Financial Markets practice in our Amsterdam office. We are interested to hear from lawyers with at least 6 years of experience in structured debt – ideally you have worked on: public and private transactions, advised on EUSR/STS compliance and receivables purchase facilities and have knowledge of factoring and discounting facilities – either from a similarly high-profile private practice or with relevant legal in-house experience. Knowledge of derivatives is useful. A Dutch law qualification is required for this position.
We are looking for a sharp and driven lawyer, with a vision for his/her specialism and an innovative mindset. We are looking for someone who is thorough and focused on content, while at the same time practical and commercially oriented in working methods and advice.
About the Global Financial Markets Practice
Our international structured finance practice is a global leader and unique in having a strong presence of specialists in all the major financial centers covering a variety of structured finance transactions, including securitisations, platform lending and asset-based transactions (both in public and private markets). We have the largest structured finance practice, with over 150 lawyers worldwide.
Our practice is fully integrated in the Global Financial Markets team and supported by Clifford Chances' market leading tax and litigation practices. We are at the forefront of legal tech developments and integrating these in our practice. Our Global Financial Markets team in Amsterdam also includes a fully integrated Fintech and Finreg group and the structured finance practice works closely together with these specialists.
In this role you will predominantly work with our partner Nienke van Stekelenburgh. The wider partner group of the GFM practice consists of a high performing group of partners, which includes Titus de Vries, Angela McEwan, Boudewijn Vermeer, Folko de Vries, Jelle Hofland, Hein Tonnaer, Ilse van Gasteren, Bas Boris Visser and Jurgen van der Meer.
