Job description
The Role
Legal & Regulatory Knowledge Management
- Proactively monitor, analyse, and summarise legislative and regulatory developments across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including guidance from key regulatory authorities.
- Lead the dissemination of critical updates to fee-earners and practice groups, ensuring relevance and clarity.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and produce high-quality internal briefings, analysis, and strategic insight reports.
- Maintain and enhance local knowledge repositories and intranet pages to ensure timely access to relevant knowhow.
- Drive the categorisation, curation, and uploading of knowledge materials into global knowledge platforms (e.g. Bound Volumes, ACKCs).
Training & Induction
- Design and deliver legal inductions for all new joiners, including lawyers, trainees, and secondees in Riyadh.
- Identify training needs and implement bespoke legal and regulatory training for internal teams and, where appropriate, external clients.
- Partner with the global Clifford Chance Academy team to ensure Riyadh lawyers are integrated into firm-wide learning programmes.
- Oversee and facilitate monthly regulatory update and in-depth sessions, coordinating closely with partners. Identify training requirements and deliver tailored legal and regulatory training for lawyers
Templates, Precedents & Tools
- Take ownership of developing, maintaining, and updating Saudi law-specific templates, standard form documents, and practice notes in collaboration with the wider fee earner teams
- Ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility of legal documentation across practice areas.
- Support the development of checklists, toolkits, and knowhow to drive efficiency and legal excellence
Thought Leadership & Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate on global and regional thought leadership initiatives including newsletters, legal briefings, ESG, FinTech, Hydrogen, and other emerging legal trends.
- Author or contribute to client publications, white papers, and internal legal horizon scanning pieces relevant to the Saudi market.
- Play an active role in global knowledge transformation projects such as Knowledge Reimagined.
Collaboration & Advisory Support
- Act as a trusted legal advisor and internal consultant to lawyers across the Riyadh office, supporting transactional work with technical legal insight.
- Respond to complex legal or knowledge queries and escalate matters when required.
- Build strong relationships with Knowledge & Information (K&I) teams across the Middle East and Clifford Chance’s global network.
- Support knowledge infrastructure growth, including library services and legal content subscriptions in KSA.
Your Experience
Skills & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with at least 4–6 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained within an international law firm or a top-tier legal environment.
- A strong grounding in one or more of AS&H Clifford Chance's core practice areas including corporate/M&A, general banking, Islamic finance or capital markets is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and communicate complex Saudi Arabian legal and regulatory developments.
- Proven experience in legal research, drafting, training, or professional support work.
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach to legal operations and knowledge sharin
Qualifications
- Law degree and strong academic credentials are essential.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
- Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
