Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Debt Capital Markets Associate to join our dynamic team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of DCM transactions, including but not limited to, bond issuances, debt restructuring, and liability management. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, as well as the ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation related to debt securities issuances, including prospectuses, offering circulars, purchase agreements, and indentures.
  • Advise clients on the structuring, establishment, and operation of debt issuance programmes.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, stock exchanges, and other stakeholders in connection with the issuance of debt securities.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on a broad range of issues pertaining to debt capital markets, including regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
  • Collaborate with cross-border teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls to discuss transactional structures and legal issues.

Qualifications

 

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 1 - 3 years PQE in debt capital markets within a reputable law firm or financial institution.
  • Strong academic credentials in law.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is mandatory.
  • Proven track record in managing DCM transactions, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific market.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
