In this role, you will be part of the C&MD team supporting the development of Clifford Chance's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice across Continental Europe. This is a hands-on and proactive role where you will work directly with the L&DR Regional Practice Area Lead, L&DR Continental European Leadership team and wider L&DR Continental European Partners and Lawyers.
Our market-leading European L&DR practice has significant expertise across all areas and sectors of dispute resolution, and individuals from across the group are also becoming increasingly engaged in emerging areas. Clifford Chance is recognised as a long-standing partner for key players in the market. As such, the team is regularly involved in major high-profile cases, many of which have received significant media attention.
This role is business critical in its support to the regional practice area and is an opportunity for you to have a huge impact.
You will work closely with the L&DR Regional Practice Area Lead and the practice's Regional Business Manager.
As part of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution C&MD team, you will also work closely with your regional Litigation & Dispute Resolution C&MD counterparts as well as other members of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team located across the globe.
You will report into the Client & Market Development Senior Manager, One Europe Litigation & Dispute Resolution who will be based in London.
You will be responsible for:
Revenue generation
- Support the C&MD One Europe L&DR Lead on the delivery of strategic Business Development activity across Continental Europe.
- Lead on Continental European-led Litigation & Dispute Resolution initiatives and campaigns.
- Proactively spot market trends and opportunities across all Litigation & Dispute Resolution product areas in the Continental European market.
- Collaborate with Litigation & Dispute Resolution C&MD regional counterparts, particularly London, to identify opportunities and develop initiatives with existing and prospective clients.
- Lead on pitches (panels, matter specific or capability statements) for significant Litigation & Dispute Resolution opportunities across the region.
Reputation management and marketing communications (working with BC&M)
- Work with the Global L&DR Communications & Marketing Lead to identify opportunities to raise our profile across the Continental European market.
- Lead in the organisation of regional client events, seminars, and conferences.
- Oversee multiple marketing communications projects, including the delivery of regional directory/awards submissions.
Client focus
- Apply knowledge of the regional practice to support client and sector programmes running across the region.
- Conduct competitor, client and market analysis to identify current and emerging opportunities.
This role requires an individual able to adopt a problem-solving approach to day-to-day support; guide others in resolving complex issues; play a key role in setting best practice and take the lead on the successful delivery of longer-term C&MD initiatives.
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will have/be:
- Previous experience in professional services business development (preferably in a law firm)
- A genuine interest in the legal sector, particularly Litigation & Dispute Resolution, and a willingness to learn more
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- A highly motivated and committed team player
- An international mindset and experience working in/across different countries
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
