Job Description

The Business Analyst role is a key role within the Client Insights & Business Intelligence (CIBI) team, which will support the Global Head of Client Insights & Business Intelligence and the broader Client & Market Development (CMD) function. The role will have a particular focus on data analysis to make data-driven decisions, optimize client engagement, and drive business growth.

This role will include working on global strategic programmes, while also acting as a subject matter expert in reporting (e.g. Excel, PowerBI), and document automation / management.

The Business Analyst will collaborate with various business professional departments and practice areas including; Business Development (CMD), Brand and Marketing (BCM), Knowledge (KETL), Finance and IT (general systems, legal technology and data science) to align client and business intelligence efforts with wider Firm goals.

Your responsibilities:

Data collection

  • Support the CIBI team with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of business data, ensuring its accuracy and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data assets.
  • Proactively find new data points and spot opportunities to engage in new analysis and to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in support of new business development.

Analytics

  • Identify opportunities to use internal and external data to spot business development opportunities in key sectors, markets and client segments for the Firm.
  • Lead requirements definition, development, documentation and implementation of data analysis, whether using internal or external data points and with the strategic goals of the Firm in mind.
  • Collaborate and consult with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, requirements, pain points and objectives for each request, and build in standardisation where required.

Visualisation

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, visualisations, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the CIBI team to combine internal client data with external research to provide key insights and recommendations on our markets, products, and clients.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enable efficient data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Business development

  • Support the exploration of potential areas of digital or business model transformation affecting our clients, markets, and products through bespoke research, market intelligence and thought leadership.
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements for projects or process enhancements.
  • Support the development of client segmentation to tailor products, services, and communication strategies.
  • Analyse client engagement and behaviour across digital touchpoints to drive a greater understanding of buyer behaviour and sales opportunities.

Lead Scoring and predictive models

  • Provide input into the creation of lead scoring models that help identify high-value opportunities.
  • Support the creation of predictive analytics models working with key stakeholders to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities aligned with strategic goals and anticipating trends and risks.

Client feedback and listening

  • Utilise qualitative data on client, matter and secondee survey responses to report on client satisfaction ratings, identify trends, and correlate them with specific practice areas, regions, sectors or client groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Power BI and/or Tableau for dashboard creation.
  • Ideally, you'll have worked in a large global organisation. Professional services experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Prior experience in areas such as project management, process improvement, and data analysis.

Skills:

  • Experience in understanding business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable data insights within the context of the Firm.
  • International outlook and experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise work effectively.
