Job Description

1) Physical and Digital Legal Library Management:

  • Manage the on-site legal library via, tracking orders, following-up with borrowed items, and cataloguing;
  • Updating the resources available, internal database maintenance;
  • Curate and improve digital access to online resources; acquiring new research tools;
  • Identify opportunities to streamline information internally, enhance refined searches, maximize storage and retrieval of legal information.

2) Budget Administration:

  • Compartmentalise K&I's budget into cost categories, such as legal databases, training, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to establish and manage a robust expenditure monitoring system, ensuring adherence to the allocated budget.

3) Legal Knowledge Researching and Sharing:

  • Actively participate in distributing legal information through newsletters related to the library; 
  • Assist lawyers in their legal research by facilitating access to relevant and up-to-date resources;
  • Presentation of the library to newcomers & organising internal legal trainings;

 4) Collaborative responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in knowledge management projects, both locally and globally.
  • Share knowledge of the latest technological advancements in legal documentation.

Qualifications

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Interest in new technological tools
  • Strong organizational skills, rigorous and curious
  • Adaptability and confidentiality skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and energetic but committed approach to the work
  • Able to communicate fluently in French with a high level of written and spoken business English. German would be considered an asset.

Profile:

  • Bachelor and/or Master in documentation, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of legal databases considered an asset

As a Documentation Assistant you will be joining the Knowledge and Information department at Clifford Chance, where you will be responsible for supporting the business through the administration of legal information as well as overseeing various knowledge management tools. You will likewise have the possibility to collaborate on various innovative knowledge related management projects across different Clifford Chance offices worldwide.
