Job description
Key Responsibilities
• Provide support to the AS&H Clifford Chance Managing Partner, heads of practice and partners by working closely with them in implementing business plans, targeting clients, sectors and product types as needed, while enhancing our reputation across key target audiences
• Ensure the deliverables of the team are in line with the region's agreed business priorities and focus on developing initiatives to support the business strategy
• Oversee the key client relationship programme
• Support winning the right work through efficient management of the pitching process/team and leading on "Must Win" pitches in the region
• Lead projects for the function to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team, and also developing the skills, best practice and performance of the team
• With the support of the team, conduct analysis of markets, industries, sectors, clients and our competition to support further growth in the region
• Develop and review key performance indicators (e.g. increased penetration of existing clients and alignment with the firm's strategic goals) so as to deliver measurable results
• Ensure adequate use and maintenance of key BD infrastructure as relevant to the AS&H Clifford Chance Riyadh office e.g. InterAction, MIS, Pandora etc.
• Plan, coordinate and lead the implementation of client engagement and marketing programmes required to implement the firm’s strategy effectively.
• Oversee the development and support of the firm's brand and reputation across stakeholder groups and target audiences, and across channels, including through the media and digital platforms.
• Advise partners and leaders in the region on messaging and positioning.
• Lead on communications programmes to support change initiatives and strategic developments in the region, providing guidance as well as developing or overseeing the production of all necessary supporting communications collateral.
• Maintain a sharp focus on potential reputation risks and develop strategies and proactive planning for managing and mitigating their impact on the firm.
• Work with the regional leadership to ensure the firm's strategy is understood in the region, with high levels of engagement and alignment.
• Ensure consistent deployment of the firm's branding, reinforcing our position as one global firm.
• Work with the General Manager, to ensure the firm's brand and reputation strategies support the needs of the AS&H Clifford Chance and to ensure a joined up approach to brand development and risk management.
• Develop strong relationships across our firm and the wider CC network in order to share best practices, execute cross-border initiatives and deliver a co-ordinated, consistently branded approach.
• Oversee submissions to the main legal directories and league tables and promoting capabilities to these directories.
The successful candidate will have:
• Successful and solid experience in a similar role with a demonstrable track record in client strategic business development preferably with professional services industry experience - whilst an experience of working in the legal market is not necessary, the skill of working effectively in a consensus based partnership structure and culture is preferred
• A track-record in working across the marketing and communications mix.
• A demonstrable appreciation of brand and reputation issues, and experience of managing them accordingly.
• In-depth knowledge of the a full service firm would be advantageous, in particular demonstrating applying this knowledge to experience of successfully developing and implementing client plans.
• The intellectual rigour and insight to be credible with a highly intelligent and experienced group of partners
• Clear and effective writing, presentational and verbal communications skills. Practical, commercially minded and service driven with a "can do" attitude and hands on approach
• Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and motivate teams through personal leadership and enthusiasm.
• Good judgement and a skill in identification and prioritisation of added value and strategic tasks
• The ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams
• A client centric view and the ability to translate strategic opportunities into actionable plans
