Job description
Summer Vacation Schemes
A vacation scheme is the perfect way to learn about working at Clifford Chance and meet our people.
Joining our vacation scheme also means you will be considered for a Training Contract at the firm. We recruit students that we believe have the potential and ambition to join us once their degrees are completed.
The vacation scheme allows you to follow the life of a lawyer at Clifford Chance closely - you will sit in two different practice areas, working with our lawyers on real, live client projects. You will be treated as a part of our team and given opportunities to demonstrate your ability.
To ensure you get the most from your scheme we will assign you a mentor, an experienced lawyer one or two years ahead of you who will help you settle in and answer any questions you have.
Across the four week scheme we will also host training sessions from professionals across the firm to give you a real insight into how our firm works. There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to connect with our people through 1:1 sessions and group socials.
In 2025 our Summer Vacation Schemes will be running across the following dates:
Block One: 2 June - 27 June 2025
Block Two: 30 June - 25 July 2025
We understand that some candidates may only be available for one of these blocks and there is an opportunity to indicate this within our application form.
You can find out more about our vacation schemes by visiting the Hong Kong careers page.
You will need to exhibit ambition, drive and commitment as well as strong interpersonal skills and commerciality. In addition to these attributes we ask that applicants meet the following requirements:
- A consistently strong academic record.
- The ability to speak Mandarin or a Chinese dialect, and to read and write Chinese is preferable.
- A law or combined degree from a university in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or England which will enable you to begin a Hong Kong training contract when you have completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL). Applications from non-law graduates who have taken the Graduate Diploma in Law (Common Professional Examination) are also welcome.
Please note that we will be reviewing applications and inviting candidates to interviews on a rolling basis.
