Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Human Resources Advisor - Projects to provide support to the HR department on a range of projects, notably in the fields of HR Business Partnering, HR Operations, process optimization, and other projects as directed by the HR Director - Americas or Senior HR Business Partner - Americas. In this role, you will assist with the operations and special projects of the Americas HR function, ensuring the efficient delivery of services, including managing projects end to end, maintaining employee records, and handling ad-hoc HR inquiries. You will collaborate with HR Business Partners and the broader HR team to support various projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience of projects, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting HR efforts, while demonstrating the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, professional environment.

The Role

Process Improvement

  • Optimize and document our HR administrative processes.
  • Develop and implement various HR policies in conjunction with the Senior HR Business Partner – Americas and/or Director of Human Resources – Americas.
  • Track and manage HR workflows and processes, ensuring timely approvals, and following up with HRBPs and HR managers to address any delays and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Foster the use of Workday and the global operations service delivery centre and lead the development of new functionalities to further automatize HR processes.
  • Ensure the best use possible of local and global technologies/ tools/systems.

Operational and Project Management

  • Provide general HR project support, including preparing reports and presentations for time sensitive requests in relation to HR projects.
  • Assist in HR compliance efforts by updating HR policies on the intranet, ensuring they are current and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection standards.
  • Collaborate with wider HR team to ensure alignment and effective execution of HR projects and initiatives across the Firm.
  • Assist with special projects and additional tasks as directed by the Senior HR Business Partner – Americas and/or Director of Human Resources – Americas, supporting firm-wide initiatives and HR efforts.
  • Assist in HR compliance efforts by updating HR policies on the intranet, ensuring they are current and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection standards.
  • Assist HR Business Partners with performance management processes, including the coordination and delivery of the Three Conversations framework.
  • Work alongside HRIS and People Analytics to gather and analyse people data for the Americas region.
  • Coordinate HR programming logistics, including room bookings, IT setup, catering, and other event-related tasks.

Employee engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing general HR inquiries (from new joiners leavers, and in relation to absence management and compensation) while escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR Business Partner (HRBP) as necessary.
  • Represent the broader HR team by fostering a positive employee experience and maintaining strong relationships between employees and the HR function.
  • Support the onboarding process by ensuring new joiners complete necessary screening, including I-9 verification, and providing a seamless HR experience throughout their onboarding journey.
  • Collaborate with the Global HR team for processes related to onboarding. Oversee the onboarding check-in process for all new joiners to ensure a smooth transition and integration into the firm.
  • Monitor and manage the central HR mailbox, promptly responding to employee inquiries and directing them to the appropriate team members as needed.
  • Support employee engagement efforts by coordinating HR-related events and programs that enhance the employee experience and firm culture and assisting with communications on HR policies and programs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, ensuring that HR practices remain up to date and in compliance with evolving standards.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 2+ years of related Human Resources experience in a professional services firm; law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience of Workday would desirable.
  • Experience of HR project management would be desirable.
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration is a plus.  
  • Must have strong attention to detail and client service mind set.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Facility in making effective decisions using sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain strong internal working relationships.
  • Must be proactive and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (in particular Excel) and the ability to pick up new technology and applications quickly.
  • Ability to work outside the core business hours as needed.
  • Must be able to adhere and comply with the Firm's Agile Working Policy which requires employees to work from the office at least three days each calendar week.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.


Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $72-82k. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
