Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

 

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full time Legal Recruiting Specialist to help support our attorney recruitment efforts including lateral, summer, and fall law clerk program administration. Additionally, this role will support to the Human Resources department with some aspects of HR administration.  This role will be located in our Houston, TX office and will report to the Head of Legal Recruiting - US.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a primary HR/Legal Recruiting contact for the Houston office.
  • Work closely with other members of the NY and DC Legal Recruiting team to help assist and coordinate attorney and summer/fall law clerk recruitment.   
  • Prepare materials for entry level recruitment interviews, maintain files for all callback candidates, coordinate screening rounds and callback interviews, prepare correspondence, and manage post-offer follow-up efforts.
  • Review candidate applications for "pre-selections" prior to on-campus interviews; oversee the compilation of final review packets of all entry-level candidates and summer law clerks for hiring committee meetings.
  • Work alongside the Head of Legal Recruiting - US to plan and manage diversity-related and attorney social events including researching venues, creating programs for student panels, and acting as a liaison with the law schools and outside vendors.
  • Plan summer law clerk program, including summer law clerk social events, training, orientation, mentor, office-mate assignments and maintain summer program events budget.
  • Participate as an active and contributing member of the Hiring Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all entry-level candidates during the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate the summer formal review process, including the mid-point and final schedules and compiling feedback.
  • Coordinate sponsorship initiatives at target law schools, including attorney participation and tracking of all efforts.
  • Assist with NALP, Vault, and American Lawyer survey reporting.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews for lateral associate and partner candidates, including following up for feedback and preparing candidate packets for final offer decisions.
  • Schedule and coordinate lateral orientation schedules for all new joiners.
  • Monitor and track recruitment metrics, including DEI statistics.
  • Assist with lateral attorney recruitment on projects related to lateral partner hiring, including collecting market data and updating internal lateral forms.
  • Host preferred search agencies for the relevant Practice Area Leaders to discuss targeted searches and keep them updated on active, pressing and particularly sensitive searches.
  • Maintain a strong network of internal and external contacts and keep abreast of market trends with respect to processes and other attorney benefits.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure that Firm processes are consistent across the Americas.
  • Assist with OFCCP and Mansfield reporting for the Houston office.
  • Maintain applicant data logs for annual AAPs for the Houston office.
  • Collaborate with the Houston Office Manager and the NY and DC HR team on office events and functions.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all personnel records and labor law postings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned pertaining to on-campus recruitment, the summer law clerk program, lateral hiring, and human resources.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of legal recruitment and/or human resources experience in a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Client-service oriented with a proactive and positive approach.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and excellent judgment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain strong internal working relationships with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to travel to the New York and Washington DC office as needed (less than 10%).
  • Must be independently and legally authorized to work in the United States.

 

 

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $92,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
