The role

We are seeking a skilled and commercially astute Real Estate Lawyer to join our Corporate team in Riyadh. The work primarily focuses on large development projects and real estate financing in the region, as well as investment deals (both direct and indirect) and transactions in the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will work on high-profile real estate transactions and advisory matters, supporting clients across a range of industries, including real estate investment, development, and corporate real estate.
- Advising PIF on the acquisition of the King Abdullah Financial Centre, the largest real estate project in the KSA and one of the largest in the region.
- Disposal of the Riyadh Bank Building in the King Abdullah Financial Centre.
- Advising King Abdullah Financial Centre on leasing and related matters.
- Advising on Hotel Management Agreements and general real estate matters for Qiddiya Development Company, the developers of the Qiddiya "Entertainment City".
- Advising Al-Tayyar Group on the acquisition of a 30% beneficial interest in certain land in Makkah for SAR 803 million.
- Advising Jadwa Investment Company on the establishment of a real estate fund for the purposes of developing and owning the Al Basateen residential villa complex located in Riyadh.
- Advising the lenders of Jabal Omar Development in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in connection with the development of land to the west of the Al-Haram mosque and comprising 22 hotels (with 20,990 keys), residential towers and retail areas.
- Advising Limitless Saudi Real Estate Development Co on a US$12 billion mixed use development in Riyadh, to include homes, mosques, offices, hotels, health and educational facilities, shopping malls and sports stadium.

Your experience
- Solid experience advising on real estate acquisitions and disposals (direct and indirect), landlord and tenant matters, real estate development and asset due diligence.
- Advising on real estate acquisitions, disposals, and leasing transactions.
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing real estate agreements, including sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, and development contracts.
- Assisting with real estate aspects of corporate transactions, including M&A deals and joint ventures.
- Advising on regulatory and compliance matters related to real estate in Saudi Arabia, including land ownership, foreign investment, and zoning laws.
- Collaborating with the wider Corporate team on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Engaging with government authorities and regulators to ensure compliance with local real estate laws and regulations.
- Providing strategic advice to clients on real estate financing, structuring, and risk management.
- Some real estate finance is useful
- Have a detailed and strong knowledge of commercial and legal issues affecting the real estate sector.
- You will have strong legal skills with the ability to provide commercial solutions.
- Good transactional and management skills.
- Experience of taking a leading role in advising clients, supervising junior Lawyers/ trainees and completing transactions.
- You will enjoy working in a busy and supportive team, supervising others and liaising with Lawyers in other practice areas and/or offices in the firm.
- Candidates should be fluent in English and have previous experience working in an international law firm.
- In all cases, candidates should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach; excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills; and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team. You must also have exceptional results throughout your academic history.
