The role
The Client Acceptance Team, which is part of the Firm's Clearance Centre, is responsible for assessing all new clients. The Client Acceptance Research team at Delhi provides its services to the Clifford Chance Conflicts and Clearance Centres based out of the UK and the US. This primarily involves obtaining evidence regarding the client to enable the Client Acceptance teams to determine whether further information is required and to assess the overall suitability of the client for the Firm.
Job Purpose
Performing the initial research function on prospective and existing clients. The research includes the entity's legality, beneficial owners, anti-money laundering and any other negative news in the media, etc. The team gathers information from various external database to which they subscribe including, Orbis, LexisNexis and Accuity.
Key Responsibilities
The main focus of the role will be:
- Work on enquiries to selectively gather information from various data sources in order to provide research on:
- Companies (Public, Private)
- Individuals
- Credit & Financial Institutions
- Associations
- Clubs
- Law Firms
- Educational Institutions and more
- Collect, synthesize and summarize the relevant data from various sources including Orbis, LexisNexis, Accuity, etc. that serves as a critical input
- Take into account the reputation, identity and creditworthiness of prospective clients while conducting the research
- Ensure adherence to procedures and workflows
- Maintains effective and efficient back and forth communication (by phone or email) with requestors
- Ensure proper record-keeping of data collected
Your experience
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's/master's degree from a reputed institute
- Exposure to Orbis, LexisNexis, Accuity databases is desired
- 2-3 years of experience at a multinational organisation, working in a similar role
Communicating & Influencing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels within the firm
- Ability to communicate persuasively and clearly
- Ability to discuss processes across all levels of the organisation
Organisational/Job-related skills
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisation skills, and proven experience of prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
- Flexible, proactive, and ability to multi-task
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
