The Role
The Senior Financial Accountant has responsibility for:
- Senior Financial accounting task, all aspects of finance operations: month end, budgeting and forecasting, year-end statutory audit and management reporting
- Executing and managing a robust internal control environment to ensure compliance with global firm policies;
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations, statutory and taxation legislation and accounting standards;
- Assisting in providing commercial support to all areas of the firm;
- Participation in the global finance community and related initiatives;
- Working closely with CC's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Delhi.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely completion and submission of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts as per the Group's closing timeline.
- To support monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory accounts preparation and reporting;
- To ensure timely compliance with firms internal audit procedures, including completion of monthly reconciliations and trial balance sign off.
- To perform monthly actual v budget/forecast analysis and comment on the drivers for variances.
- To provide leadership and guidance to Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Delhi ensuring the finance team in Australia are supported and delivering to the business needs of the Australian practice;
- To ensure the finance function in Australia is working in a coordinated and collaborative manner;
- Ensuring that the finance team is integrated with their regional colleagues;
- To support the Finance Manager with preparation and lodgement of annual tax returns.
- To support the Finance Manager with preparation and lodgement of annual audited financial statements.
- To assist in the annual budgeting and six-monthly forecasting and other forecasting processes as required;
- To assist in managing cash flow and funding requirements and co-ordinate with Group Treasury and local banks.
- Ensure adherence to Global Transfer pricing policy.
- Maintain monthly Service Trust calculations and relevant recharge procedures.
- To manage the external and internal audit reviews;
- To work with external tax consultants as required;
- To provide ad-hoc financial analysis to all parts of the business;
- To manage the day-to-day relationship with the GSSC in Delhi;
- To participate in Firm ad-hoc projects as required.
Your experience
You will:
- have completed your accounting degree and be CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of three years post qualified
- prior work experience in a legal or other professional services firm is desirable but not essential
- be able to manage the firm's IFRS requirements and have knowledge and experience of accounting standards
- strong corporate tax experience with a desire to further develop tax skills
- be proactive, organised and have meticulous attention to detail
- demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritise with proven ability to work independently
- ability to identify business improvements and implement change
- clear and concise verbal and written communication
- have well developed influencing and persuasion skills and be good at building relationships at all levels, be proficient in Excel and the Microsoft suite of products. Prior experience of Oracle Financials and Hyperion Planning is preferable but not essential.
