Job Purpose
The Manager will have responsibility for managing the GBS team in Hyderabad, will work as point of contact for the GBS team in Hyderabad. The Role is expected to collaborate closely with functional managers and the diff teams in GBS HYD. The role is expected to provide leadership support on ground to the multi-functional teams. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, Identifying the training needs, laisioning with local support functions such as IT, HR and the Facilities. The Manager will supervise and monitor staff and will have responsibility for managing BAU within the GBS team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- To serve as primary point of contact for the Hyderabad Team.
- Oversee day-to-day operations in tandem with other functional leads and GBS Managers
- Visibility on all the functioning shifts to provide leadership support to the team by addressing/escalating their concerns, challenges, etc.
- Manage sickness, leaves of the team.
- Identify risks to service delivery success and drive activities to mitigate those risks.
- Liaise with various internal teams, such as HR, IT and Facilities to provide seamless services to the team.
- Shift Scheduling, Hols & Abs and other MIS reporting and uninterrupted support to stakeholders.
- Proactively contribute to on-going development and process improvements.
- Operational coordination of the workload in conjunction with DP and Design Managers and leads to ensure critical production mass remains stable and the utilisation is balanced between all shifts and teams
- Uncover insights quickly and accurately by working with the GBS Management to ensure stability for the operations.
- Document the feedback and handle escalations.
- Lead the BCP and service continuation initiatives with Associate Director.
- Represent the team on various forums when needed.
- Work closely with AD and Global Head on various departmental projects/Initiatives.
People Management
- Lead on the recruitment; reviewing suitable candidates, participate in interview process and onboarding, ensuring full induction process is met.
- Identify and mobilize opportunities for development through formal learning opportunities, experiences, and coaching.
- Creating performance improvement plans for the team members when required.
- Contribute through all aspects of the performance management cycle, mid-year and annual performance reviews, objective assessment and feedbacks.
- Encourage and develop 'One team' approach in the team and ensure the team abide by the company policies and follows Code of Conduct.
- Create a happy and healthy environment on the floor.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's/master's degree from a reputed institute
- 8+ years of experience at a multinational organisation, working in a managerial role at the shared services division of a global firm, handling global client and stakeholder interactions
- Experience in managing multi-functional teams and on-shore, off-core stakeholders
- Experience in transitioning processes to an offshore location (captive/outsourced)
Communicating & Influencing
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and clearly
- Ability to discuss processes across all levels of the organisation
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Change management experience
Organisational/Strategic/Job-related skills
- Service & delivery excellence, along with continuous service improvement
- Ability to articulate the challenges a business operation faces when consistent change is being delivered
- Ability to understand, analyse, interpret, and report on operational performance data
- Ability to advise on a range of issues and where necessary adapt skills to address emerging issues
- Ability to gather and analyse information and to use the results of that analysis to make effective decisions and find innovative solutions to problems
