SUPERVISORY PARALEGAL

"Always try and think of ways you can improve. If you ever receive feedback or guidance use it for future workstreams or projects"

Back to profiles

I joined the firm when we were in Carillion Advice Services in October 2016. I joined as a Paralegal Apprentice following completing two years at sixth form, which I really enjoyed. So I thought, why not have a career doing something I love?

In September 2018 I qualified as a Paralegal within the Banking and Finance team. Since then, I have been involved in a range of projects including completing a client secondment for a Dutch banking client for 12 months.

Since September 2021 I was promoted to a Supervisory Paralegal so my daily role involves with leading projects, communicating with a range of stakeholders and quality control of work completed by my colleagues.

In addition to this, I am currently completing my Law Degree at the Open University.

What attracted you to Clifford Chance?

What attracted me to a career in the legal sector is the variety of work which can be completed. The legal world can be quite complex and the law is always developing and changing. Therefore, there is always going to be something new to learn and a different challenge to face. I really enjoy challenging myself, working with like minded people and having an opportunity to work on some really interesting and complex legal projects.

Tell me about the most rewarding experience you have had at Clifford Chance?

I have had many rewarding experiences since I have been a part of the firm. The one which stands out is being able to work on a client secondment for 12 months. It was an amazing experience working along side a different team and something I hope we do again in the future. This challenged me professionally but the end result was so worth it. Also, receiving amazing feedback and chocolate at the end which is always a bonus!

What advice would you give to someone considering a role at Clifford Chance?

Always try and think of ways you can improve. If you ever receive feedback or guidance use it for future workstreams or projects. It is always good to learn from others.

What's the best piece of advice you've received?

Never be afraid to ask questions. I am always learning new things each and every day so don’t ever shy away from asking a question if you are unsure or, just generally interested.
