Job Description

Job Overview - Change Manager (IT, Ai & Data - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

As part of our strategic initiatives, Clifford Chance is focusing on the successful implementation and adoption of its IT Strategy, AI Transformation, and Data Strategy propositions to enhance its competitive edge and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a Change Manager to work alongside the Senior Change Lead to manage the programme's change and engagement workstream. The role will look at how we drive engagement in, and adoption of, new ways of working across the firm in these key transformational areas, both with our business professional and lawyer populations. This position is essential for managing complex, multicultural, and behavioural changes within the firm, ensuring the seamless integration of the IT, AI and Data propositions into the firm's operations and culture.

More broadly this role will sit within the firm's Global Change Management function and be part of a team of change professionals supporting the firm's investment portfolio. As such, you may support other change initiatives across the firm. As part of the Global Change Management function you will help build change capability and a change mindset across the firm and will embed and evolve the firm's transformation framework through the work that you do.

The Change Manager will have experience of designing and delivering a change management approach (covering change, communications and training) on complex, multicultural, behavioural change programmes within a professional services organisation.

Who you will work with

The Change Manager will report to the Senior Change Lead and be a key member of the programme team, working collaboratively with colleagues across workstreams and functions to address the "human" side of delivering transformation.
They will be part of the Global Change Management function and will work closely with other change professionals, as well as closely with our colleagues in the Global Programme Group.
They will engage directly with partners, lawyers, directors and business professionals, across regions and offices, as they build understanding of, and advocacy for, the change within these communities, actively listening to and mitigating challenges around engagement and adoption. They will also engage with the firm's leadership to help build effective change sponsorship.
This role involves working in a multicultural environment, requiring effective communication and coordination with diverse teams.

What you will be responsible for

The Change Manager will work with the Global Change Lead to design and deliver a change strategy and plan that delivers the outcomes (specifically the people dependent ROI), drives positive sentiment, and ultimately delivers high levels of adoption in relation to new ways of working.
They will drive high awareness, understanding, and desire across different 'personas' and stakeholders, ensure people are set up to succeed with the right knowledge and skills, and ensure high levels of adoption and embedding of new ways of working. They will track, measure and course correct against agreed measures of success and will raise people-related risks, issues and dependencies.
The Change Manager will influence the programme and its stakeholders to take a colleague-centric approach to change and will act as a trusted advisor and deliverer in relation to change management.
They will champion the firm's Transformation Framework and change management approach, tailoring it to the programme's requirements.

What you will do

The Change Manager will:
•    Support the development and execution of a change management strategy and plan for IT, AI and Data.
•    Prioritise behavioural change as the driving force of the programme and position any technical implementations as catalyst for such changes.
•    Create key change deliverables, including Change Readiness and Impact Assessments, Stakeholder Mapping, Persona Change Stories, Training Needs Analysis and an Engagement Strategy / Plan aligned with the Transformation Framework.
•    Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and support communications and training plans to prepare the business for changes (both keystroke and behavioural).
•    Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and support communication and training materials, such as key messages and FAQs, presentations, demos, user guides, videos, and online sessions, to prepare the business for changes.
•    Mobilise, engage and maintain colleague communities such as change champions and super users.
•    Establish metrics to measure the success of change initiatives and provide regular updates to senior management.
•    Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address blockers and enablers of change.
•    Implement post-'go live' activities to ensure embedding and adoption, linked to benefits realisation.
•    Help embed and evolve the firm's change management approach and methodology.

Qualifications

Your career experience so far

•    Experience of working within a global professional services organisation, preferably in the legal sector.
•    Deep experience working as a change management practitioner, particularly within complex, global transformation programmes.
•    Track record of managing change initiatives for large-scale technology-focused transformation projects, such as CRM and/or ERP implementations.
•    Deep understanding of change management principles and methodologies.
•    Experience in facilitating the integration of new systems and processes into existing operations.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
•    Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities and initiatives.
•    The ability to work effectively in a matrix-managed environment and influence and inform stakeholders and others – exemplifying the firms' Code of Conduct.
•    Experience in reporting and providing updates to senior leadership and project teams.
•    Familiarity with strategic growth initiatives and their implementation within a corporate setting.
•    Strong and creative problem-solving skills.
•    Confidence to identify and highlight improvement opportunities, being both flexible and adaptable.
•    Strategic and organisational awareness and the ability to apply these viewpoints to the detailed or people-focussed challenges.
•    Excellent active listening skills.
•    A recognised Change Management certification is desirable
