Job Description

The Role

 

As Client & Market Development Senior Manager - Private Equity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the growth strategy for our private equity practice.

This position involves leading business development initiatives, enhancing client relationships, and increasing market share in key financial centres globally.

You will work closely with senior partners and the wider C&MD team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.

 

What you will be responsible for

 

Strategy and Implementation

  • Support & execute the PE strategy aligning it with the firm's strategy, including priority client targeting and initiatives and campaigns to support high-growth products and clients
  • Work closely with the PE partners, the Chief Client Officer, relevant Partners, Associates and CMD / BCM professionals across all practice areas to implement PE action plans
  • Ensure cross practice, cross-sector and cross-functional alignment, to achieve proper coverage and effective strategy execution.
  • Report regularly on progress against the plan and refine approach accordingly

 

Client and Market Development

  • Produce bespoke, client-facing pitch materials, presentations and responses to RFPs - including compiling, proofreading, formatting, editing and finalising documents in requested format.
  • Act as the go-to expert on the Firm's expertise in Private Equity, with a comprehensive knowledge of the Firm's internal databases and the ability to analyse quarterly performance metrics.
  • Coordinating high-profile CC-sponsored market-facing initiatives e.g. Private Equity Lawyers Forum conference, BVCA Summit sponsorship, BVCA Private Equity roadshow. 
  • Keep marketing materials such as practice descriptions, brochures, PowerPoint templates, details of transactions, rankings, and lawyer profiles current and accurate.
  • Perform in-depth research and generate intelligence briefings on clients, prospects, competitors, and industry sectors to inform strategic marketing decisions.
  • Work closely with partners and the marketing department to devise and implement focused marketing initiatives, events, and thought leadership projects.
  • Keep track of the effectiveness of business development initiatives, fine-tuning strategies as needed to meet objectives.
  • Overall responsibility for PE related directory submissions and nominations for awards

Qualifications

Your experience

 

  • Extensive experience in business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment with a focus on private equity
  • Strong understanding of the private equity market, key players, and regulatory landscape
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies and initiatives
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, partners, and industry leaders
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong technical proficiency and familiarity with tools like Preqin, Pitchbook, CapIQ, CRM, Mergermarket platform, Bloomberg terminal, Refinitiv workspace, etc
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, law, or related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred

Hybrid Working

This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time
