The Content Marketing Manager is a crucial role in our global Brand Communications and Marketing team, responsible for creating and channelling content for internal and external audiences.

As well as originating and producing content, you will also be editing and reviewing content that your colleagues produce for consistency with our brand and tone of voice.

The role requires versatility, since the content types you will be creating and managing will include articles, interviews, storyboards, and social posts. These 'assets' will cover a broad spectrum of topics from our growth strategy and talent proposition to international capital flows, cross-border deals, AI and responsible business practices. You will have a flexible, creative mindset and an interest in the business agenda, geopolitics, and contemporary communication strategies.

  • Omnichannel: You will be familiar with how to re-purpose 'hero' content into effective snippets for online and offline readership as part of integrated, multi-channel communications initiatives.
  • Audiences: Your audiences will include any combination of our 6,000+ colleagues globally, our international client base, talent pipeline, alumni, the NGOs with which we work, and media influencers.
  • Stakeholder management: You will know how to liaise effectively with colleagues at all levels of seniority in generating content that resonates with its target audiences, delights stakeholders, and achieves its intended purpose.
  • GenAI: You will be familiar with the application of AI technology to content generation and copy writing and editing processes, leveraging advances in technology to bring consistency of house style and tone of voice to the content and copy you will be producing and reviewing.

 

Who you will work with

You will work with:

  • The Brand, Communications & Marketing team, across multiple channels including Brand, Campaigns, Website, Social, Internal, External and Events – and across our Global, Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific and Middle East & Africa markets.
  • Colleagues across the firm responsible for content generation, including in the Knowledge & Thought Leadership, Client & Market Development and Talent Acquisition teams.
  • Lawyers and subject matter experts in our key markets and sectors, including Energy, Tech, Risk and Private Capital.

 

What you will be responsible for

  • Writing and content creation: you will write short form and long form copy, we follow best practice in terms of editorial standards, particularly for digital channels. This will involve any combination of researching, writing, editing and gaining sign-off for a wide variety of content types.
  • SEO: you will be familiar with optimising copy for natural search, adopting the right key words and tags for the audiences that we are targeting and areas where we want to drive online performance.
  • Design / Digital Design: work with our Digital marketing, Graphics and CX teams to ensure content is on brand and performs strongly in online environments.
  • Data and KPIs: Monitor channel data and develop data management strategies that demonstrate the alignment of content with our business strategy and how it played a role in achieving marketing and communications objectives.
  • Channels: You will be publishing across Clifford Chance Internal News, Website, Email, Social, Events, Sponsorship and Print media channels.
  • Tone of voice and house style: Work with colleagues to uphold and evolve our tone of voice and editorial guidelines and standards, to meet high standards (brevity, plain language, user experience) and align with and further the Clifford Chance brand.

 

What you will do

You will bring a journalistic and proactive approach to managing, planning, aligning, leveraging, and curating internal and external content.

You will work with internal stakeholders to develop impactful, data driven content.  In developing this content, you will provide advice and expertise around writing for digital channels (e.g. SEO, User experience (UX), Client experience (CX), Metrics, Web design and development, Social media integration).

As part of the BCM team, you will also support the successful execution of wider team initiatives, such as the delivery of large internal and external campaigns and events.

Skills:

  • Excellent editorial and written communication skills (both digital and non-digital)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Tech savvy
  • Ability to self-organise, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging copy which is purposed for specific channels
  • Client-focused, motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, organised, creative and diplomatic
  • As part of the role, you will work with the most senior leaders of the Firm. You will have the ability to interact with senior management and other business contacts in a professional, confident manner
  • A team player, willing to go the extra mile for both the team's clients and the team itself.

 

Experience:

  • Experience of developing and implementing editorial and content management strategies, writing, editing and publishing feature-length articles and short, engaging news stories for print and web essential
  • Planning and management expertise
  • Previous experience as a journalist is advantageous, but not essential

 

Qualifications:

Preferably educated to degree level in journalism, communications or English, or with experience working in a related field

This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time.
