The Role
Continuous Improvement ("CI") is part of a global community that delivers our "Best Delivery" strategy. "Best Delivery" means ensuring that we deliver outstanding value and experiences to our clients, better ways of working for our people and more streamlined processes.
The Continuous Improvement Project Manager will work in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution (L&DR) and Real Estate (RE) Continuous Improvement team and be responsible for delivering improvement projects, within the portfolio, which change the way complex legal services are delivered to our clients. They will execute Continuous Improvement and change management plans contributing to the Firm's Innovation & Best Delivery strategy; and taking ownership for various work streams that support that strategy as well as the strategy of the Practice Areas, as directed by their line management.
Who you will work with
With direction from the Global CI Lead for L&DR, you will work within the practice areas with colleagues from Legal Tech, Legal Project Management, Pricing, Resource Management, Delivery Centres, Business Development, Communications, Partnership Finance, Knowledge and Information, and other teams as necessary. You will also be expected to collaborate with our colleagues in other regions on cross jurisdictional projects.
What you will be responsible for
You will be responsible for leading/guiding project teams and applying their experience to determine an optimal approach in complex and multi-dimensional environments.
You will be responsible for promoting teamwork and collaboration, ensuring prompt identification and resolution of potential areas of conflict, and for managing all aspects of change across a diverse set of stakeholder communities.
Projects will be primarily based in London L&DR/RE, and you will be required to collaborate on other cross regional/cross practice projects, in which case it is likely that some, or all parts of the project may need to be managed remotely.
The success of this role will primarily be measured by feedback from key stakeholders within L&DR and RE; the extent to which the projects yield sustained benefits to our clients and the firm; and the successful roll-out of new ways of working.
What you will do
You will be responsible for the following activities:
- Gathering and interpreting data that supports the programme's vision
- Acting as trusted advisors to partners and lawyers
- Demonstrating advanced change management and communication skills
- Displaying intermediate-level skills in the areas of process improvement; client engagement; technology improvement and project management
- Engaging with clients to position Clifford Chance as a leader in legal services innovation
- Defining and deploying new ways of working, including technology, resourcing models and digital solutions
- Managing a range of improvement and change management projects
- Tracking and promoting benefits/value to drive further engagement
- Collaborating effectively with stakeholders within Innovation & Best Delivery, Business Professionals, legal teams and clients
As part of your projects delivery you may also be responsible for the management of other professionals, including allocating and monitoring delivery of projects and performance management
Your experience
You will possess the following experience:
- Track record of delivery of continuous improvement/client service change & transformation projects within a professional services environment
- Management of projects from end-to-end and realised associated benefits
- Prior experience in the application of consulting skills, creative, strategic, critical and organisational thinking is essential
- Six Sigma qualified at green belt as a minimum
