Job Description

The role

The Global Brand & Campaigns Manager is a new role at the heart of Clifford Chance's Global Brand, Communications and Marketing team, with responsibility for delivering impactful marketing campaigns, particularly at the global, firm-wide level.

Your brand, marketing, and marketing tech experience, excellent people and stakeholder management skills – and a keen desire to progress your marketing career in a dynamic, global professional services environment – will enable you to drive demonstrable success across a range of initiatives and campaigns.

Who you will work with

You will work closely with colleagues with Campaigns, External Communications, Events, Digital Marketing, Internal Communications, Visual Identity, Design and PR experience within the Global Brand, Communications and Marketing team. You will also work closely with Client & Market Development colleagues globally in aligning marketing strategy with business development goals, as well as with partners, associates and business professional colleagues across the firm.

What you will be responsible for

Campaign management:

  • Leading and supporting global marketing campaigns. They will cover strategic sectors, themes, and corporate brand initiatives to position and promote the firm's market-leading capabilities with our clients and future talent.
  • Implementing and evolving our firm-wide campaign processes and best practice; offering guidance, recommendations, and advice to colleagues within and beyond the BCM team
  • Increasing the value and impact from effective use of Digital Marketing and Social Media Channels in campaign delivery
  • Generating omni channel content playbooks to ensure consistency in the roll-out of global and regional campaigns
  • Marketing planning and execution (content development and generation, design, research, data, omnichannel strategy and performance analysis)
  • Effective asset deployment and copy origination and editing across multiple communications channels
  • Measuring the effectiveness of campaigns and related marketing initiatives
  • Surfacing new ideas and approaches to effective marketing
  • Ensuring communications and campaigns are audience-centric and purposeful

Networking and brand building:

  • Engaging with global colleagues through delivery of consistent and coordinated omnichannel marketing campaigns
  • Showing how account-based marketing, content marketing and data metrics drive tangible ROI in professional services
  • Leading specific streams of brand activity, particularly where the skills required include strong project management/content awareness/design understanding/marketing mix

What you will do

Day-to-day activities will include:

Campaign management:

  • Working with marketing colleagues and other internal stakeholders to develop and implement global, and sometimes regional and sector-focused marketing campaigns, integrating online, print, and other channels, driving and anticipating the prioritised marketing initiatives that you and colleagues will be delivering
  • Taking individual responsibility for delivery of key marketing programmes that support the firm strategy
  • Generating marketing content with appropriate approvals
  • Ensuring best practice campaign delivery is communicated and followed
  • Offering colleagues support and guidance on delivery of marketing campaigns
  • Drive important marketing initiatives: marshalling input from internal stakeholders and third parties to deliver outstanding marketing communications that further the firm's brand and reputation
  • Take the lead on ad hoc requests for campaign management
  • Provide, commission and review copy writing and use your editing skills (e.g. positioning statements, firm-wide awards submissions)
  • Working with our Client & Market Development colleagues on campaign related activities, including effective client targeting that leverages our CRM

Qualifications

Your experience

Experience

  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably with some element of professional services industry experience. While a background in the legal market is not essential, experience of working in a consensus-based partnership culture or a large global organisation would be welcomed.
  • A track record in generating new ideas and successful delivery of marketing programmes and initiatives that generate strong impact, to time and to budget whilst also demonstrating return on investment
  • Experience in using and exploiting robust marketing processes, marketing technology and project management tools

Skills and knowledge

  • Campaign management – proven experience in managing marketing campaigns that draw on the full mix of copy, design, print and online expertise
  • Community development– demonstrable stakeholder management experience and experience in developing communities of interest through targeted marketing programmes, alumni programmes or other similar initiatives.
  • Stakeholder management – the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior members of the business, across borders and internal matrix, is vital
  • Credibility and effective communication as a professional marketing lead when dealing with partners, associates and business professional colleagues
  • Outstanding writing and proven editing skills as evidenced in a portfolio of high-quality professional services online and print marketing communications
  • Exceptional analytical, project and process management skills demonstrated by leadership roles on brand and marketing projects that have delivered tangible results for the business
  • Demonstrate a global perspective, with sensitivity to multiple and diverse cultures.
  • Good judgement and a skill in identification and prioritisation of tasks
  • A self-starter with the influencing skills and resilience to take projects through to completion with demanding internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent
