The Role
Job Overview
You will design, develop and implement a world-class Business Professional offering, alongside leadership and behavioural change programmes aligned to our Clifford Chance Leadership Framework and function needs. In addition, you will lead the embedding of our coaching, mentoring and sponsorship framework and a number of strategic projects to build firm wide capabilities across the firm. The strategic projects have been aligned to the firm's strategy and people and talent priorities.
Who you will work with
You will work closely with the Global Head of Learning and Leadership Development (L&LD), the wider L&LD team members, CoEs across the firm, the Head of Coaching, regional HR teams and other key functions, such as Finance and IT.
What you will be responsible for
You will be responsible for working with the business to enable and improve individual and Firm performance aligned with the Firm's strategic goals. You will work as a key member of the global Learning and Leadership Development Centre of Excellence and will be specifically responsible for the design, development, and implementation of global Learning and Leadership Development curriculum and strategic projects.
You will ensure our people and leaders have the skills and capabilities to deliver their role and against business needs.
What you will do
Design, develop and implement a world-class Business Professional offering, aligned to our Clifford Chance Leadership Framework and function needs.
Design and implement leadership development activities which incorporate a variety of learning methodologies to ensure our leaders and future leaders are equipped with the skills and capabilities required to embed a high-performing culture across the firm.
Run strategic learning needs analysis to clearly articulate behaviour shifts and analyse key data to help define commercially focused learning outcomes that address global and regional challenges.
Create a clear evaluation approach, including defining required data points, for key programmes and initiatives to show the ROI.
Embed the CC leadership framework and create specific programmes and initiatives to support aspiring leaders to develop the knowledge and skills required to step-up into managerial and leadership roles.
Embedding coaching, mentoring and sponsorship in the overall learning and leadership development offerings, working in partnership with lawyer L&LD lead to integrate into lawyer curriculum.
Leading future skills strategy across business professional and working in partnership with lawyer L&LD lead to align with Lawyer offering.
Providing thought leadership and leveraging external trends/ content/ suppliers to deliver market leading development solutions.
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners (inc. vendors) on design, development, implementation and evaluation of development programmes and initiatives, including other L&LD CoE team members, other CoEs, Head of coaching, regional HR teams, other key functions (e.g. Finance, IT).
Your experience
Skills
- You will be a strong communicator who has the confidence to operate at all levels within the organisation. You will have a flexible and effective communication style, to ensure communication strategies promote inclusivity and diversity.
- You will have the ability to help drive long-term business and HR strategy, thinking in global terms and demonstrating strong business acumen.
- You will be able to work successfully with key stakeholders to create joint expectations and deliverables; striving for positive results and engaging others in the journey.
- You will be credible as a subject matter expert and able to build relationships with people at all levels, leveraging and developing on your internal network.
- You will have the ability to deliver clear and impartial strategic advice in a consultative manner.
- You will have excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise activities and co-ordinate input from internal and external partners.
- You will be accurate and methodical with excellent attention to detail.
Experience
- You will have solid experience of designing and implementing leadership development programmes/activities.
- You will have an excellent track record of designing and delivering strategic learning interventions that drive behavioural change.
- You will have experience of building and leading capability programmes; from design through to measuring success over time.
- You will have experience of partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders/leadership teams, across borders and in a matrixed / global environment.
Knowledge
- You will have a solid understanding of core leadership theories and best practice.
- You will have a global perspective, with sensitivity to multiple and diverse cultures.
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification is desirable, but not essential. For example, a qualified occupational psychologist or a relevant professional qualification in Management (e.g. ILM, CMI).
- A relevant coaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Hybrid Working
This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time.
