Job Description

The Role

The Executive Leadership Group (the firm's decision-making body which steers the firm and its strategy) operates through three committees, led by partners and senior business professionals:

  • Clients, Markets and Products:
  • People & Talent;
  • Operations and Business Transformation

As part of the Clients, Markets and Products Committee, Clifford Change has an ambitious growth strategy linked to the firm's strategy. This requires significant changes to the ways that lawyers acquire, retain and grow clients.

As part of delivering the growth strategy, the firm is looking to transform the way that customer relationship management works at the firm. This is a holistic transformation programme, looking at technology, process and people (behaviour, culture and mindset) changes.

We are looking for a senior change lead to:

  • Create and execute a change management strategy for the "growth strategy" in order to help deliver major behavioural change across the organisation.
  • Lead the change management workstream on the CRM transformation programme to design and deliver the change management strategy, potentially managing a team of change managers and any third party suppliers.
  • Provide change management support for the Client & Market Development (CMD) operating model design / implementation.
  • Take an overarching view of any individual change management plans for projects or programmes within the growth strategy / Clients, Markets and Products portfolio to ensure that they are connected and ladder up to the overarching growth strategy change management approach and plan.
  • Work with the Global Head of Change Management to ensure that any change management work ladders up to the enterprise-level change strategy, and to pilot and evolve the change management framework for Clifford Chance.
  • Build and own the "partner" persona, articulating key change impacts for this persona.

Who you will work with

You will be part of the global Change Management function, reporting to the Global Head of Change Management. You will interact with other senior change leads working on major change initiatives within Clifford Change in order to ensure alignment and to foster a culture of innovation, creativity and high team performance.

You will work closely with C-suite level members of the Clients, Markets and Products Committee, as well as with the CRM programme team, including the CRM steering committee, the CRM programme office and other CRM workstream leads.

You will also work closely with the Global Head of Business Transformation Implementation, internal change managers and any third-party suppliers or contractors.

What you will do

For both the growth strategy, CRM programme, and CMD operating model programme, you will:

  • Create the change management strategy and plan (laddering up to the enterprise change management strategy and framework)
  • Be responsible for delivering the plan on time, on budget and to quality
  • Map out the overall and specific behaviour change vision (from/to journey)
  • Perform change impact assessments
  • Create persona journeys, focusing initially on the partner change journey
  • Identify the key change management levers that will help us achieve the change vision
  • Identify and address potential people challenges and resistance
  • Create and deliver a plan to engage key stakeholders, key personas and other audience groups as required
  • Measure engagement, change readiness and adoption and course correct as required
  •  As required, support with selecting and managing change management services from third party suppliers
  • Manage any resources (both internal and external) working to deliver the change strategy
  • Align with the enterprise-level change management strategy
  • Pilot, test and help evolve the enterprise-level change management strategy and framework
  • Align with other major change initiatives at Clifford Chance
  • Be an active contributor to a change management community of practice
